The cost of repair depends on exactly what problems you have but we don’t usually charge anything to have a look and give you a quote first.
Sometimes we have to repair the issue to tell you how much it will cost but in these cases if the repair will go over £35.00 we will always discuss this with you first.
Do I Need To Book To Bring My Computer In For Repair?
No, generally we offer a walk-in service but if you need your device back within a specific time frame then we can book in a time to suit you.
If we feel that your device isn’t worth repairing or isn’t an economical repair we will always tell you and advise what the best next steps are.
Will I Loose Any Of My Data (Documents, Pictures, Music Etc) From A Repair?
At JS Computing our first priority is to keep your data safe and make sure that data loss doesn’t happen.
There may be instances such as your hard drive failing where the data is damaged and not retrievable in the 1st place without specialist referral but none of our repairs will ever loose your data.

This can include wireless printer issues as well. We can provide remote or on-site support to get your printer back up and running again.

Data Recovery ( disaster Recovery )
Most people rely on their computers, holding years of data, hard work & irreplaceable photos without ever making back-ups. When it does fail, we’re here to help! At JS Computing Services we provide data recovery services from £65.00. Providing your hard drive hasn’t completely failed we should be able to recover your precious data & provide it back to you on appropriate media. Unfortunately, sometimes we can’t recover data because the hard drive is just too damaged, when this happens, we will refer you to a local specialist data recovery firm who have specific expertise in recovering lost & highly damaged data.

Hard Drive and other Computer Part Replacements
The hard drive is the component in your computer or laptop that stores all your data, pictures & work. The most common reason we see hard drives fail is simply due to age, hard drives have moving parts so over time they just wear down and eventually fail. We usually expect the average life of a standard hard drive to be around 3-5 years. Symptoms of a failing hard drive include speed issues, freezing, not loading & clicking or grinding noises. It’s important to spot the signs of a failing hard drive early as if it’s left too late and the hard drive fails this could mean costly specialist data recovery to get back all your data, pictures & work stored on the hard drive.
Usually, we will replace your hard drive with an SSD drive. Solid State Drives are faster & last longer than traditional hard drives because they have no moving parts. So, this also means a new lease of life for you PC. Providing your hard drive isn’t too damaged we can transfer your data and programs to the new SSD &a lot of the time we can clone everything over so it’s exactly as you left it but now running as it should be or better. SSD upgrades/hard drive replacements start from £185.00.
New laptops
We can provide new laptops to suit any need, from basic internet browsing laptops to office work laptops to gaming laptops & high-powered editing workstations. We always include the set up & transferring your data over from your old PC or laptop so that your new laptop is ready to go when you get it home.
Any new laptop we sell is only ever one that we’d be happy to use ourselves, this means we don’t sell the low powered, lower cost laptops that don’t even come with enough storage or power to run the basics. We take the time to figure out what your specific needs are and then match a new laptop to you. This way you get a new laptop that not only fits your needs, but your budget too.
